We are living at a time like when Copernicus proved that Earth was not the center of the cosmos. With the Capra Course, you’re invited, as Galileo did, to ‘look into the telescope’ and see for yourself.
Experience collective learning with study groups and a global network sharing good news from local communities. Imagine…. we are ‘changing the dream’ by following what has brought forth life for billions of years.
This 12-lesson Zoom series introduces both novice and expert to Fritjof Capra’s and Pier Luigi Luisi’sThe Systems View of Life. Options to join study groups in several languages, some focused on a particular topic, are among the extras. Access to 200 others opens a world of explorers studying the same topics. Networks begin to emerge…
This fall starting on September 18 we begin on Fridays at 3 PM ET for 90 minutes with one or more of FOUR co-hosts – Sharon Joy Kleitsch, Marissa Levine, Nicole Mignone and Steven Bingler, each with their own experiences of applying systems theories to places and with different areas of expertise. Consider co-hosting a session with them, if a lesson particularly engages you. We do our best to BE a living system learning collectively. Consider the study group as an opportunity to commune. As Nora Bateson notes, “There will be no community without first communing.”
The Connection Partners (TCP) has been ‘experimenting’ with the Capra team since Feb 2020, when the pandemic was beginning. Systems were falling apart, as we learned how life began with a brilliant, treasured wise man – Fritjof Capra. Perhaps you read his seminal book “The Tao of Physics” first published 50 years ago. His lessons are on Zoom for your convenience with supplemental video and/or reading materials. What’s refreshing is that he too is a learner, recently refining his conclusions to Four Principles:
Life organizes itself in networks
Life is inherently regenerative
Life is inherently creative
Life is inherently intelligent
These have been our experiences. Our original study group of 40 Florida activists still meets Mondays - for well over 600 weeks. Every spring and fall since, TCP hosts a Capra Course Study Group. It’s ALL on Zoom.
We add opening and closing sessions, so we are a week behind the Wednesday ‘lesson drop’ for a total of 14 consecutive weeks. We set our agenda, based upon what participants want to dig into more deeply. We’ve been known to wander way off and stay on longer than 90 minutes. Conversations self-organize and continue on the Course Forum. Networks of networks are full of surprises. See more at the World as a Network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYM5pIqWWLQ
You may want to share the experience with an explorer in your bio-region, as change begins locally.
